About me
Curiosity, everywhere.
Hello! I'm Sophia. Growing up with hearing loss has made me curious about the medicine and technology that help people communicate. When I visit audiologists and doctors, I ask questions about medicine and my hearing aids. I want to help make everyday life easier for other people who are deaf, hard of hearing, or have a disability.
My mother encouraged me to explore technology and its potential for change. That was the beginning of my coding journey. Alongside building projects, I give presentations and share my experience with peers and younger children growing up with similar barriers.
Outside those projects, I play viola, snowboard, sail, and happily spend an entire day in a museum. I've lived in Toronto, Beijing, and Montreal, and speak English, Mandarin, and French. I love reading, and Yunnan rice noodles are my favourite comfort food.
