EchoSense

I built EchoSense to make an experience that is often invisible easier to understand.

The idea

Growing up with hearing loss made me want to help others understand what it can sound like. EchoSense lets people explore hearing-loss profiles and share the experience with others.

What I built

I independently coded the website and backend. I added AI-assisted frequency adjustments, customizable profiles that can be shared, and a music section.

Sharing the work

I demonstrated EchoSense to VOICE families. Parents wanted to share it with grandparents to explain their children's experiences. The project was also shared through a podcast reaching more than 100,000 people.

Why it matters to me

This project connects a barrier I have experienced with my interest in coding. Sharing it with families helped me see how an explanation can become a useful tool for understanding each other.
