HOSA & Science Initiatives

Creating more opportunities for students to explore health and science.

HOSA

As my school's HOSA chapter head for two years, I organized events and led more than 30 students to HOSA Canada's Spring Leadership Conference. When demand exceeded our membership cap, I requested permission to admit additional students.

Opening access to competitions

I approached our science department head about competitions our school did not yet offer and helped establish annual registration open to all students.

The opportunities

These include the Sir Isaac Newton Physics Contest, Avogadro Chemistry Contest, Canadian Chemistry Olympiad, Canadian Biology Olympiad, CAP High School/Cégep Prize Exam, and University of Toronto National Biology Competition.

School participation

Participating students have since achieved top-1% results in the National Biology Competition and silver and bronze medals in the Canadian Biology Olympiad.

More milestones.
